If any member feels it is time to commit to paper his or her life or aspects of it, then this is the group to join. Reasons for writing a memoir may be many and varied and, as part of the experience, the group will explore how motive can play a major role in style and layout.

Participants will be encouraged to write for each session extracts of some 750 to 1200 (or more) words for discussion and constructive comment by others in the group.

No writing background is required as everyone should, in time, develop their own voice aided by writing tips, constructive comments and suggestions from group members. Ideas as to format, sequencing and tone can be gleaned from reading one or more books on a list of outstanding memoirs published in the last thirty years. The list will be made available to participants in the group on registration.
